Membership eligibility

Veterans of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and/or Coast Guard who have served overseas in any war, insurrection or expedition recognized by a campaign or service medal of the United States of America are eligible for membership in the VFW.

And any member with an honorable discharge that served during a noncombat time may join the Auxiliary. The woman’s and men’s Auxiliary united into one unit as of January 1, 2017.
